Accreditation is necessary for the Institution and maintain their high level of standards. This in turn increases trust and confidence for the Institute and the public and also helps to increase accountability. It is is a process of quality assurance and improvement, whereby the approved programmes in the Institution is critically appraised to verify that the programme continues to meet and/or exceed the norms and standards prescribed by regulator from time to time. It is an pointer to aspiring students of the Institution’s level of commitment to excellence. Students also benefit from the process of continuity in development of quality that is a part of the NBA’s approach to promote excellence in technical education.

Objective
- To assess and accredit the engineering education programs at diploma, degree and post-graduate level.
- To evolve standards and parameters for assessment and accreditation in line with the parameters laid down by the appropriate statutory regulatory authority for co-ordination, determination and regulation of standards in the concerned field of technical education.
- To promote excellence through a benchmarking process, which is helpful in determining whether or not an institution is able to achieve its mission and broad based goals, and in interpreting the results of the outcomes assessment process.
